Something Rotten In Nightside
It’s that time of year! October is here and Halloween is on its way. That means that there’s a special quest waiting for every wizard. If your wizard is at least level 13 and has completed the quest “The Sixth School,” you might notice that Dworgyn has something for you. He wants you to speak to him in Nightside as soon as possible!
Turns out, there is something mysterious happening in the Haunted Cave. The cave has been overrun with walking vegetables! As you approach the cave, you notice that the ground is littered with lifeless vegetable husks. There also appears to be bite marks!
Once you enter the dungeon, you instantly begin the quest “Down the Rabbit Hole”. Your first task is to defeat 2 Blood Bats. Each one only has 400 health. This might be a little tricky if you’re a low level wizard, so feel free to bring a friend!
You’ll talk to Tarley, who tells you that he and his brother, Carley, were farming the caves. All of a sudden everything went haywire and Carley is now somehow trapped! You’ll need to recover the rest of the Dynamite to clear the rubble and save him, once you defeat the bloodbats blocking the path.
Once again, you’ll be fighting 2 Bloodbats with 400 health. After you defeat them, it seems like you’ll have to fight yet another 2. However, you can skip this battle by just walking around the Bloodbats. In this sub-cave, you’ll be able to collect the dynamite, talk to Tarley, and blow up the blockage.
Once you rescue Carley, he tells you that he’s found the source of the ghoulish vegetables. If you thought you were in just a cave system, you’d be dead wrong, when in fact, you’re in Nosferrabit’s Burrow! Nosferabbit, the Vampire Hare, stalked the farmlands for veggie juice. The veggies he drained became cursed with Undeath. You have to stop this nefarious rabbit! Making your way down the burrow, you’ll have to fight some veggie revanants. (The quest arrow says you need to deafeat 2, but this is a four on one fight). Be careful!
When you find Nosferabbit at the end of the burrow, he’s got another trick up his sleeve. Like all classic villains, he sends some of his veggie henchmen to take care of you. There’s only three of them this fight.
Finally, after clearing all the veggies, you reach Nosferabbit. He’s accompanied by 3 vegetable villians. Nosferabbit is a rank 3 boss who has 590 health, so he can be quite a challenge for the new wizard. Good luck! You can beat him!
After you defeat Nosferabbit, Tarley and Carley appear.
If you have made it this far, you’ve just completed the walkthrough of this spooky dungeon! Now, you can buy different transformations from Tarley. When purchased, these transformations appear in your elixirs page of your backpack ~ so make sure you have enough space. To complete this quest, return to Dworgyn in Nightside. You’ll receive some xp, gold, and a pet, The Frankenbunny.
The Frankenbunny pet can be useful for some starting wizards. It’s a storm pet that provides the Healing Current item card, which might come in handy during fights. Although there are better heals, low level storm wizards can find Healing Current useful when they’re low on health and don’t have Fairy in their hand.
